Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation - Working for Wildlife

Welcome

The Kittitas Valley is located in Central Washington, approximately two hours east of Seattle. The Valley has lush farmlands and is home to Central Washington University and the world famous Ellensburg Rodeo, held every Labor Day Weekend.

The mountains surrounding the valley are home to many animals including elk, deer, bear, cougar, and many smaller animals as well. People also enjoy the abundance of pheasant, quail, grouse, and many fish species.

We usually have bright blue, sunny skies over 300 days a year.

*2008 Banquet Committee - Volunteers Needed*

A letter from our regional director, Mike Hale, March 2008:

The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation has a long history of conserving, enhancing and protecting habitat for elk and other wildlife. The backbone and strength of the Foundation has always been the work of thousands of volunteers. Your local Kittitas County Chapter in Ellensburg has been at the forefront of this state's volunteer efforts. The Ellensburg Chapter, formed in 1989 has played a major role in the Herculean efforts to establish and fund the East Slope Cascades Conservation Initiative and Naneum Land Exchange.

Now in their 20th year of raising funds for the future of elk, other wildlife and their habitat, they are in need of help. Many members of the committee have been working since the chapter's inception and are in need of a well deserved break. We need to replenish and grow this committee to continue the important work they have started. We are still planning to have another great fund raising event in July, but without your help, this may not be a reality.

Please contact me by phone at (877) 826-3945 or by email at mhale @ rmef.org . You may also contact Stephanie Bala at (509) 899-2197 or by email at Stephanie.bala @ mossadams.com or Bill Wilson at (509) 962-8448 or by email at bill @ bivensandwilson.com .

Please join us and “Be the Future of Elk Country”

Sincerely,

Mike Hale

RMEF Regional Director for E. Washington
